The Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition is committed to the delivery of exemplary clinical care, to teaching trainees, and to perform basic and clinical research in digestive diseases in children. Faculty members engage in a wide variety of clinical and basic science research to further the understanding, treatment, and cure of many disorders. The Division is part of many collaborative multi-center trials, and provides accredited training to pediatric and adult gastroenterology fellows, residents, and medical students from the University of California, as well as other programs. The Division specializes in hepatitis, fatty liver, biliary atresia, obesity, peptic disorders, total parenteral nutrition, eosinophilic esophagitis, pediatric GI cancers, and functional abdominal pain.
