The Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Dermatology is the largest pediatric dermatology unit in the United States, and is a highly respected center for training in pediatric dermatology, with rotating physicians and trainees from throughout the world. The 2007-2008 academic years were tremendously successful for the Division, with expanding clinical activities and research broadening national and international impact on pediatric care. The nation’s first comprehensive Eczema Center was developed with dedicated resources for research, education and comprehensive clinical care. The division also specializes in vascular lesions, hemangiomas, birthmarks, pigmented lesions, cutaneous infections, inflammatory skin conditions including psoriasis and acne, skin cancers, procedural dermatology and genetic diseases. Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego offers the most comprehensive Dermatology Program for children in the region. As the busiest center in the nation with internationally renowned physicians and one of the most sought after fellowship training programs in the nation, the Dermatology Program is truly a center of excellence.
