The Division of Pediatric Neurology provides comprehensive consultation, assessment, and management of neurological disorders affecting infants, children and adolescents. In addition to general neurological disorders of childhood, special areas of expertise among the Division members include neurodevelopmental disabilities (e.g, autism, developmental delay), epilepsy, metabolic disorders, neurogenetic disorders, headache, movement disorders and neuromuscular disorders.

Members of the Division are also actively engaged in basic, translational, and clinical research to better understand the mechanisms of brain development and disease, and to advance treatment modalities for children with neurological disorders. The Division provides all of the inpatient and outpatient clinical services, including consultations, ongoing care, advice and support regarding neurological issues for the greater San Diego area and contiguous counties. Members of the Division also receive referrals for consultations from all parts of the United States and from many other countries.
